What to say to patients 

“Sideways step-up step-down is an effective exercise for activating your buttock muscle gluteus medius. The step-down phase is just as important as the step-up phase. It is important you contact us tomorrow if you experience significant stiffness or soreness as we may need to delay the second bout of step-up step-down training in order for your body to recover. This should not delay your progress and your body will adapt quickly as long as we prescribe the exercises correctly.”
