Introduction: Understanding hip conditions
Case studies
Practical session: Exercises for the gluteals low tensor fascia latae, step-up box, weight bearing and non-weight bearing, advanced
Patellofemoral pain: Screening tests, risk factors, quadriceps and hamstring dominance, vastus medialis – dispelling myths
Case studies
Practical session: Closed chain and open chain exercises
11.00am – 11.15am Morning Break
11.15am – 1.15pm
Achilles tendinopathy: Tendon stiffness theory, load bearing and endurance, runners and return to sport, motor control, pain monitoring model
Case studies
Practical session: gastrocnemius, soleus rehabilitation
1.15pm – 2.00pm Lunch
2.00pm – 5.30pm
Foot conditions, intrinsic foot muscle strength, stretching theory, foam rolling theory
Case studies
Practical session: stretching, intrinsic foot muscle strength exercises for plantar fasciitis

Who is your presenter?
Dr Alice Evans
BHSc. DipPilates, M.Chiro. Cert IV Training and Assessment, Learning and Development Specialist Adelaide University
Over the past 20 years, Alice has worked as a leader, evidence-based clinician and educator in the health promotion and e-learning space. She has been integral in developing over 45 hours of ESSA accredited courses through her company Evidence for Exercise and trained over 4500 practitioners world-wide by providing engaging online content. An early and passionate adopter of Pilates she established a multidisciplinary clinic in 2006 and has had over 80,000 consults. As a chiropractor she has a special interest in hip and lower limb pain and is an annual international guest speaker at the Virtual Neurology Summit.
